The overview tour of the Museum
The overview tour of the Museum will acquaint the visitors with the origin and history of the city of Riga, the history of Latvian shipping, as well as the Silver Cabinet and Marta Alberinga cabinet. On display in the 14 halls of the Museum there are both outstanding objects of cultural history and art as well as everyday objects that the Museum has accumulated during its almost 250 years of existence.

Thematic tour of Old Riga - with family and friends!
The Museum of the History Riga and Navigation offers a tour of Old Riga for small groups (from 3 to 10 participants) – “Old Riga through the Centuries”.
Individual tour guide fee per person: EUR 15

Thematic Tours
Tour with a demonstration of a knight's costume and weapons
The tour will give an insight not only in the history of Riga, but also the way of life and weapons of the ancient medieval knights. By handling the weapons and armament of medieval soldiers, visitors will be able to get the feel of ancient warriors and learn about historical battle and melee techniques, about events in the ancient battlefields of Riga.

Discover Old Riga
Together with the guide we will walk through and get to know the streets, squares, courtyards, churches and other interesting places of Old Riga.

Dom Church and the Cross Gallery
The tour will give an insight in the Dom Church, its organ, stained glass windows, tombstones, the altar and the pulpit. A walk around the premises of the former men’s monastery will take the visitors to the Cross Gallery and the historical and cultural monuments exhibited there.

For adults / Lifelong learning
For the newlyweds and guests of wedding anniversaries: a wedding stopover
After the solemn ceremony or at another suitable time, the Museum invites the newlyweds and guests of wedding anniversaries to treat themselves to a romantic spell in the Museum.
The programme includes a path of symbolic stopovers (gaining the favour of the Big Kristaps of Riga and securing the family economic success, etc.), a wedding waltz, a toast in the luxurious Column Hall, as well as photography opportunities in all the halls of the Museum.
Participation in the Museum programme by choice: in pairs, together with the best man and maids-of-honour, relatives and wedding guests.
Programme duration: ~ 60 min. (between 11.00 and 17.00).
Programme fee:
Programme management: in Latvian – EUR 40,-; in a foreign language (ENG or RU) – EUR 50,-
Individual programme visit per person – EUR 1.50
Photo session in the Museum interiors with a professional camera – EUR 30,-

Rent the venue
We offer to rent the premises in the Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation in Old Riga, Riga Dom Ensemble, incl. the Column Hall, an outstanding 18th century monument of classicist architecture, restored in all its glory.
In these halls we invite you to organise conferences, seminars, congresses, concerts, performances, presentations, wedding ceremonies, parties and other events.
We offer presentation equipment and grand piano rental, as well as guide’s services, if you want to get acquainted with one of the oldest museums in Europe – the Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation.
Please apply for a reservation in advance by filling in the order form and coordinating the time and the desired additional services with the Museum administration.
