The numismatics collections include collections of coins, bonistics, medals and falleristics – around 95 000 objects all in all.

The Museum coin collection is the oldest and one of the most important coin collections in Latvia. It stores more than 70,000 collection items. The collection also includes antique and Western European coins.

The bonistics collection includes the exigency money in use in German cities in the 1920s, as well as Russian banknotes from the second half of the 18th century.

The collection of medals spans the period from the 15th century to our day and comprises over 5 200 works by Russian, Italian, German, Dutch and other masters, also medals relating to Riga and Latvia’s territory.

The collection of falleristics contains about 14000 badges of the latter part of the 19th century to the present time.
