Marta Alberinga Cabinet

The exhibition is dedicated to the dancer and collector Marta Alberinga (1909–2005), who in 1999 donated her collection of art objects to the Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation, one of the largest donations in the history of the Museum. It gives an insight into the bright personality and complicated life story of the donor, a popular performer of Spanish dances.

On show at the exhibition is the donation – the most valuable objects of more than 1500-item collection. Among them are pictures by Latvian painters Janis Rozentāls, Jānis Valters and Kārlis Hūns, china and glassware, furniture, adornments, everyday objects, fans, photos and dance costumes from Latvia, Germany, France and Russia.
