The Hall

The hall, one of the most significant rooms in the house. The main entrance opened into the hall; thus, the visitors could judge by this room the affluence of the host. It was a custom to decorate the hall with expensive furniture, family portraits, chests etc. The room is adorned with the impressive-looking Danzig-type wardrobe (17th century), a metal money chest and a portrait of the Elder of the Small Guild, made by unknown artist. The floor is covered with ceramic tiles (19th century), which served as a floor cover in the Cross gallery of the Dome church.
